Chapter 1: The Scale and Diversity of the Fashion Industry

HAUTE COUTURE

Haute Couture is fashion that is constructed by hand from start to finish. The product is made from high quality, highly expensive ;( Approximately between $10,000 and $9 Million), often exquisite fabrics hand sewn with attention to every detail and particularly the quality of the garment. This type of couture garments are very time consuming, For example a single garment could take approximately between six months to a year.

Some couture piece could be made for individual client and some are designed for the runway, like an art exhibition piece.

This garment could approximately cost between $1million and $9 Million.

MAIL ORDER

Mail Order is the sale and ordering of goods by post, these generally involving selections from a catalog or on-line companies. The buyer places an order for a desired product(s) by telephone call or website. Then, the product(s) are delivered directly to the customer by the address given to the customer in the comfort of their own home.
In my opinion, I feel that mail order is a great way of shopping, it’s hassle free! You don’t have to be standing around in super long queues waiting to get served by stroppy staff that doesn't even want to be there. But, then again, you can’t beat a good old gander around the stores in your local town. You get a feel for the garments; a sense of down time for yourself, treating yourself! What’s not to love about that?!

STREET FASHION

Street Fashion is generally associated with youth culture and fashion that emerges from the street but increasingly photographs published pictures of what people are wearing often using a blog or in magazines. Back this up with examples and your own thought, find a good visual.
